The following information is appertaining to the design of the marriage certificate
and is attached to the back of the frame:
"The border of this parchment is of Italian origin and features a most elaborate interwoven 'white vine' design. Its intricacy & delicacy are a fine tribute to Florentine workmanship, it dates back to mid 15th century and the document that it belonged to was given as a wedding gift to one of the greatest medieval kings that ever lived, Mathias of Hungary. The initials M and C at the top of the parchment are of Victorian origin & the whole piece is in the hand of a 16th century Italian writing master. The gold leaf is applied by hand over a terra-cotta ground of raised gesso. The seals (which are joined together by a gold thread represent a bond of love, a concept that dates back to the 14th century) are of wax shellac and gold highlighted. The parchment is of our own creation."
A signature facility is offered incase either/or both the bride & groom are suffering from a severe case of the jitters and once the signatures are on the document there is no getting them off! This point was raised by several clients that asked if we could put a signature on the document if they sent us a perfect one - it made sense so we started to offer the option.
Send us a piece of white paper with several signatures, mark the two you like best and we will resize them to fit and color as well. They need to be fairly large and written with a thin pointed roller ball. The signatures on the above document were created that way.
